The Beginning Band is open to all 6th grade students, no experience necessary! Students will learn the basics of playing an instrument, reading music, and performing with a group in a fun, supportive environment. We start from scratch, so if you first thought is, "I don't even know how to play an instrument," this class is for you!

Classes meet once a week during the school day at each elementary school. Students can choose to start on flute, clarinet, trumpet, or trombone, or another band instrument with director approval. 

Beginning Band is a great way to build confidence, creativity, and teamwork, and it’s the first step in a musical journey that can continue all the way through junior high and beyond!
